What the charge is, how to lower or stop a pledge, what happens when a card declines, and how to reach a person.
What does CCDONATE mean on my statement?
It marks a donation or fundraising payment processed through CaringCent for a partner organization. The organization's or campaign's full name doesn't always fit in a card statement's description.
Why doesn't the charge show the school or organization's name?
Card statement descriptions are short. Because the payment is processed through CaringCent, the short CCDONATE description can appear instead of the partner name you remember from the campaign, email or donation page.
Can CaringCent tell me what the charge was for?
Yes. Send us the amount, the date, the last 4 digits of the card and any school, team, foundation or campaign name you remember, and we can usually match the charge to the right gift.
How do I lower or stop a pledge?
Open the Manage my pledges link in any CaringCent receipt email. You can lower a pledge or its cap, or stop it, without signing in. No receipt? Ask for a new secure link, or write to us.
How do I raise a pledge or change my card?
Sign in to the donor portal. Raising a pledge or its cap needs a sign-in; a receipt link can only lower or stop one. Your card is under Funding account.
My card was declined. What happens to my pledge?
When a card keeps declining, we stop trying it and pause the pledge until a new card is added, and we email you to say so. Add a card in the donor portal and billing picks up again on its own. Nothing is charged while the pledge is paused.
What happens if I dispute a charge with my bank?
Future charges on your pledges stop as soon as the dispute opens, and the organization is told. Writing to us first is usually faster: we can explain the charge or arrange a refund without a dispute.
What if I think my card was used without my permission?
Call the number on the back of your card right away, then tell us so we can stop any future charges and look into the gift.
How do I get a receipt or a year-end tax letter?
Year-end tax reports are in the donor portal. For a single receipt, or if you can't sign in, ask us.
Will CaringCent ask for my full card number?
No. We only ever need the last 4 digits. Never send a full card number, bank account number or security code to anyone who asks about a CCDONATE charge.
